Aaliyah Edwards seems to have gained a new zeal. Back in 2025, Edwards was traded to the Connecticut Sun by the Washington Mystics. And while she did have a pretty decent season in Connecticut, this free agency has come with some significant buzz around her. Speaking about her performance this season, the former UConn star averaged 6.0 points and 3.3 boards before she was traded.
And now, reports heavily link Edwards with the new expansion team, the Toronto Tempo. With recent appearances, speculation was already circulating. To add further fuel to the same, Edwards reacted to her viral Gradey Dick video.

The Sun star recently made a lot of noise with her NBA appearance. Cameras recently caught Edwards at a Raptors game, igniting some strong connections between the two. As the WNBA star cheered for the Raptors in their final preseason game against the Brooklyn Nets, Edwards sported Toronto colors. And that was not all. After the game, the WNBA star enjoyed some time with Raptors’ Gradey Dick. As the pictures went viral, the 23-year-old shared her true feelings about it.

Taking to her Instagram, Edwards wrote, “Toronto energy just hits different💜 #home.”
Along with the caption, she also uploaded several snapshots from her outing. The first picture showed Edwards posing with a badazzeled baskwetball. Next, fans spotted the 23-year-old with superfan Nav Bhatia and several of the Raptors’ play-by-play announcers. Lastly, the Connecticut star posted a clip of RJ Barrett attempting a 3-pointer from the corner. Meanwhile, as the ‘W’ fans seemed excited, some of Edwards’ teammates, too, commented on the situation.

UConn Teammates React to Aliyah Edwards’ Recent Toronto Outing
Edwards’ appearance at the Raptors’ game made fans wonder whether something was going on or not. Most are also speculating about if the Sun star will opt for a change in team jerseys and join the new franchise, the Toronto Tempo. However, the fans were not the only ones to express their opinions. Two of Edwards’ former UConn teammates also had their point of view put forward.

Nika Muhl has been by the side of Edwards for a long time. The duo played together throughout the entirety of their NCAA careers. And not only that, Muhl and Edwards also led the Huskies to a berth in the Final Four. Commenting on Edwards’ post, Muhl wrote, “Courtside baddie.”
Moreover, Los Angeles Sparks’ forward, Rae Burrell, too, reacted with a series of fire emojis. Thus, as the rumors continue to spread, fans are eagerly waiting to see whether Edwards will join the Tempo in the next season or not.
