Early Life & College Career

Bueckers was born on October 20, 2001, in Edina, Minnesota. She started playing basketball at a young age and quickly rose to national recognition as a high school star, earning the title of Gatorade National Player of the Year in 2020.

She committed to the University of Connecticut (UConn), where she joined Geno Auriemma’s legendary program. As a freshman in 2020–21, she had one of the best debut seasons in NCAA history, averaging 20.0 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game. That year, she became the first freshman to win the AP National Player of the Year award.

Although she has dealt with injuries, including a torn ACL in 2022, Bueckers has returned to form and continues to dominate the college game.

WNBA Career
