The Unrivaled season 2 is ready with its rosters and team names out in the last week. While Paige Bueckers’ Breeze BC confronts the same youth paradox that plagued the Dallas Wings last season, the UConn star has new (somewhat improved) young teammates, including Dominique Malonga, Cameron Brink, and Aari McDonald.
Brink made a triumphant return from her injury in the 2025 season, and McDonald is still making progress in her rehab. The star provided an update with a social media post. ,
Aari McDonald Provides Update On Her Injury
The Indiana Fever’s memorable run in the 2025 season had many contributors. The midseason acquisition was also instrumental in her role as a guard, filling in for Caitlin Clark at times. However, an injury during the game against the Phoenix Mercury sidelined her for the season.

While she is making some public appearances with the team without crutches, she has yet to recover completely. The Fever Guard recently shared a video updating her recovery from injury. She captioned the post, “baby steps, but we are getting back on track.”

As the young guard is recovering, she already has a surprise for her from her former college team, as McDonald hints at availability for the Arizona Wildcats’ mysterious November 21st event.
Indiana Fever Should Bring Back Aari McDonald
While the Indiana Fever were struggling to find the perfect backup for their backcourt duo, injuries in 2025 handed them the 25-year-old guard who thrived as a starter and even as a role player. The Athletic insider Sabreena Merchant called her a ‘must-have player’ for the Fever team as they enter the 2026 season.
“The defensive identity they leaned into with Odyssey Sims, with the replacement players they had to bring in like Aari McDonald and stuff, like that’s just a different team than the one with Caitlin Clark leading at point guard,” Merchant wrote.

McDonald would not be a supermax player, but she will help the side maximize the impact of other players on the games. Having her in the rotation, the fever team can also invest more in strengthening their forward lineup.
