Aari McDonald has been one of the top names in the Indiana Fever lineup. Unfortunately, while the team had a lot of expectations from the 27-year-old, McDonald had to sit out due to injury concerns.
Now that the offseason is underway, all teams are looking to reinforce their rosters. And much to the delight of the Fever fans, McDonald has announced her return for the first time since she got injured.
Only recently, McDonald shared some positive ‘baby steps’ updates about her injury. And now, she is all set to showcase her exceptional hooping skills in Unrivaled.
Aari McDonald Looking To Impress In Unrivaled Season 2
As per the latest announcements, the Fever star will be suiting up for the expansion team Breeze BC in the second edition of Unrivaled. Although it is only in its second season, the league founded by Breanna Stewart and Napheesa Collier has garnered significant attention.

It has provided WNBA stars with a platform to earn significant earnings while staying within the US. Now, the 27-year-old Fever star, too, has the opportunity to make a name for herself. She will be joining a star-studded lineup of Paige Bueckers, Kate Martin, Cameron Brink, Dominique Malonga, and Rickea Jackson.

Now, such an outing will be of great help in restoring McDonald’s confidence and fitness. While she hopes to come in firing on all cylinders, the experience of playing with the likes of Bueckers will surely enhance her as a player. And most importantly, her performance in Unrivaled might just decide her fate in the WNBA.
Will Aari McDonald Be Playing In WNBA 2026?
McDonald had a mediocre performance in the games that she played before her injury. A glance at her numbers will reveal the Fever star dropped averages of 9.8 points, 2.4 rebounds, 1.3 steals, and 4.7 assists.

She also had a pretty in-and-out kind of season. McDonald got waived before she returned a few days later. However, showing some promising results, the 27-year-old became a regular in the Fever lineup by June. The Fever star also took on key responsibilities after Clark and Sydney Colson withdrew due to injuries.
Now, as she is ready for Unrivaled season 2, a lot will depend on how she performs for the Breeze BC. And this might be her key to determining how high her stakes will be for the WNBA 2026 edition.
