Adam Silver’s interference in the CBA negotiations has never turned out to be pleasant. Being accused of not trying to solve the stalemate, the Labor Unions had a unique protest against the NBA commissioner. Before the drop of the latest CBA proposal, the WNBA dropped two other contract offers.
Unfortunately, with housing cuts and other significant reductions coming in, the players immediately rejected the same. Now, following the in-person meeting between the players’ union and the WNBA, things are looking a bit better. And trying to capitalize on the opening, Silver recently stressed the urgency.

Adam Silver Wants WNBA-CBA Fiasco Resolved Soon
The countdown to a new WNBA season has already begun. With less than 100 days to go, things are really looking bleak at the moment. Thus, without further ado, Silver wants the WNBA to pace things up and solve the problems soon.
Speaking about the same in his NBA All-Star presser, Silver stated, “What I’d love to accomplish is sort of putting pressure on everybody and saying, okay, I’ve been through so many cycles of collective bargaining, and often things tend to get done at the 11th hour. We are awfully close to the 11th now when it comes to bargaining.”
Surely, things have been looking the same for the last fifteen months. Officials have now pushed back the CBA deadline three times. And not only Silver, but the agitation within the players has also grown. Indiana Fever star Sophie Cunningham recently issued a 30-day ultimatum to the WNBA. Meanwhile, sparing a chunk of his NBA All-Star presser towards WNBA discussions, Silver had a lot more to say.

Adam Silver Looking At Bright Side Of Things In WNBA

With the surge of rival leagues like the Unrivaled and Project B, the tussle between the WNBA and the players seemed pretty alarming. Thankfully, as per the NBA commissioner, he has seen some positive growth in recent times.
He said, “Let me begin by saying I think it’s unfortunate where we find ourselves right now, both from the team standpoint and from the players. We’re coming off tremendous momentum in the WNBA. It’s not lost on anyone. I feel like in the last few years in particular, the league has turned a corner in terms of fan interest, commercial success, popularity of players.”
Surely, Silver does have a point. With the likes of Caitlin Clark and others coming in, the business experienced a boom. Now, the onus is on the WNBA to continue with the good work.
