After a sluggish start to the season, the Las Vegas Aces are rediscovering their winning form. Their recent home victory over the Connecticut Sun has extended their longest streak of the 2025 campaign, improving their record to 18-14 through 32 games. This resurgence is largely fueled by A’ja Wilson regaining her rhythm.
Posting impressive numbers, Wilson once again guided the team to success while setting a rare WNBA record. As the Aces’ leading scorer, she continues to prove herself as the ultimate difference-maker across all aspects of the game.
A’Ja Wilson Set Unique Record In WNBA During Win Over Connecticut Sun
The bottom-placed Connecticut Sun struggled on both ends of the floor throughout the season. Defensively, they rank 13th with a 110.1 rating, while offensively, they have a 94.6 rating, again at the bottom of the league’s standings.
Despite this, neither player was able to dominate against them in a single game, like A’ja Wilson did at the Michelob ULTRA Arena on August 10. She scored 32 points and collected 20 rebounds in the game, becoming the first player in ‘W’ to record 30+ points and 20+ rebounds.

This was the fifth 30+ point game for the 29-year-old forward. She also had four 15+ rebound games in her career, highlighting her dominance in the paint region. While Napheesa Collier led the 2025 MVP race with her strong season, Wilson now looks more likely to be the winner after her consistent offensive display.
In the game against the sun, Jackie Young scored 21 points for the winners. Marna Mabrey scored 22 points for the Sun, providing some fight for the visitors.

A’ja Wilson’s Record-Breaking Career
Records are not new to the Aces’ superstar forward. She already holds the record for most points and rebounds for the Aces with 5371 points and 2335 rebounds. She has the most forty-point games (4) and the most consecutive games with 20 points (20).

In the 2025 season, the former USC star is delivering mind-boggling performances. Crossing the 5000-point mark, the two-time league MVP has been in scintillating form lately. She now has her 14th double-double performance in just 28 games. Wilson stands in third position for the most double-double stats in the season, tied with Aliyah Boston.
The Aces heavily rely on the reigning league MVP, who leads the team in every primary stat except assists. The star forward hit a form at the right time for the LV side as the side will next welcome the New York Liberty on August 13.
