The Las Vegas Aces faced the Seattle Storm recently. And thankfully for them, the team came out victorious. Displaying some great basketball skills, the Aces won 90-86. And shining brightly on her birthday was A’ja Wilson.
It was a historic night in Vegas. Not only Wilson, but NaLyssa Smith too, celebrated her birthday with a win. And to add to the excitement further, the team itself had registered one of the rarest feats in the WNBA.
A’ja Wilson Shines Amidst WNBA Boom
Wilson’s birthday was a hot topic of discussion for Vegas’s fans. In fact, to make things even more interesting, the team hosts, CJ & Joe, wore pink wigs. The mascot, BUCKET$, too, donned a similar wig to join in on the action. Thankfully, amidst all the pomp and show, Wilson did not disappoint.
The 29-year-old chipped in with 29 points. She also had three assists and 12 rebounds to set a compelling example. However, while Wilson’s birthday was a big deal, the sellout crowd also had a big role to play.
The WNBA has been booming lately. And a sold-out Friday night crowd only hinted towards further success. But this was the 40th consecutive time that the Aces had a full house. Taking to Instagram, the official team account shared the news with utter pride.
“𝐀𝐋𝐋 𝐈𝐍 𝐀𝐓 𝐓𝐇𝐄 𝐇𝐎𝐔𝐒𝐄 Our 40th straight sold-out game marks the most consecutive sellouts in WNBA history!” the caption read.
Aces fans, we made history with our 40th straight sellout tonight! 🗣️

Surely, such a reception from the crowd is fabulous for a team. And one of the biggest reasons for the same is undoubtedly Wilson. Only recently, she tied Diana Taurasi in terms of WNBA elite points. And now, she is part of the Hall of Fame!
A’ja Wilson Is In The South Carolina Gamecocks Hall of Fame
Wilson had a lot of reason to rejoice. Come October 23, 2025 the Aces superstar will be inducted into the University of South Carolina Athletics Hall of Fame. The 29-year-old graced the courts of South Carolina back in 2014. While she spent her best collegiate years there, the University decided to respect her with the honor.

“Top Tier blessings,” wrote Wilson on Instagram.
Surely, this was a huge honor for the 29-year-old. Wilson is the only athlete from basketball to receive such an honor in college. She will be crowned along with Natasha Hastings (track), Brandon Hulko (diving), Paul Jubb (tennis), Akram Mahmoud (swimming), and Mollie Patton (soccer). Thus, with things looking impressive, fans cannot wait to see what’s next for the Aces star.
