A’ja Wilson is currently on cloud nine. And why not? It is for her impeccable performance in the finals that the Aces became the WNBA champions for the third time. Owing to her sublime form throughout the season, head coach Becky Hammon compared Wilson to Michael Jordan and LeBron James. And while that is quite a huge coming her way, the Aces star does not want to take all the credit.
Surely, it was Wilson who took the Mercury to the cleaners in the finals. But she could not have made Aces win the title all by herself. Thus, when asked about the same, the 29-year-old did not shy away from crediting her teammates.
A’ja Wilson Makes Heartfelt Statement About Her Teammates
The Aces won Game 4 with the scoreline reading 97-86. And once again, it was Wilson who stole the show. The WNBA star was on the field for thirty-six minutes. She dropped 31 points along with nine rebounds and four assists. And while social media erupted with the Las Vegas Aces’ sweep over the Phoenix Mercury, the Michael Jordan comparisons became all the more prominent. However, it looked like Wilson did not want to take all the limelight.

Speaking after the game, she pointed out how the real heroes were her teammates. Wilson stated that when such big comparisons are made, it usually means that an athlete is on the right track. And all of that, according to the 29-year-old, was possible because of her teammates. “When you’re compared to legends, that means you’re doing something right, and I’m so grateful but I would never be who I am without my teammates,” said Wilson.
