When it comes to impact on women’s basketball, one top name comes to mind is A’ja Wilson. The player is now compared to the NBA’s GOAT, Michael Jordan, after winning three championships and four MVP titles before turning 30.
While the player is at the top of her sport and game, she still keeps her feet on the ground and always speaks about giving back to society. She also acts accordingly and recently did a heartwarming gesture for her father’s alma mater.

When the Aces’ star won the 2025 WNBA championship, she hugged her family. Cameras even caught Wilson’s tearful hug with NBA boyfriend Bam Adebayo. She highlighted the key role her family played during her tough time and the support they showed throughout her career.
Now it was time for the star to show her love for her family and donated her signature Nike shoe, the A’Ones, to the women’s basketball program at Benedict College, her father’s alma mater.

Importantly, her father, Roscoe Wilson Jr., played for the Benedict Tigers in the early 1970s and was a top player on the court. He even coached the side after the conclusion of his playing career. During his pro career, he played with top stars like Julius ‘Dr. J and Nate Archibald after graduating from New York’s legendary Rucker Park League.
