The 2025 WNBA season can be perfectly described in four words – dominance by underdog teams. The injury-hit Indiana Fever, Phoenix Mercury, Las Vegas Aces, and even Golden State Valkyries proved winners in the season with their performance throughout the season. Finally, A’ja Wilson’s power-packed game won the championship for the Aces, but all those teams deserve applause.
Talking about the championship, A’ja Wilson’s game-worn jersey from the WNBA Finals headlines the Meigray auction. While this is a testimony to her incredible season, the player named the 2025 championship ring the most rewarding one for a different reason.
A’ja Wilson Rates 2025 WNBA Championship As Most Rewarding One
The Las Vegas Aces won three out of the last four WNBA championships with the former South Carolina star at the center of all the title-winning runs. She won two Finals MVP awards for her efforts. It would have been difficult to choose the best title for anyone, but the seven-time All-Star had it in her mind.

Answering the 2025 WNBA championship as her best championship ring on the Jennifer Hudson Show, the forward said, “No one expected us to do it, and like what better way like ‘boo boo’ than to win it.”

A’ja Wilson Credits Becky Hammon For Championship
During the championship parade, the superstar forward mentioned her HC as a key factor in the championship run. Though every player put up great performances on the hardwood, it was Becky Hammon who ran the show from the bench.
“When you’re talking about a woman that pours into you, that sacrifices for you, that loves you for who you are, that’s that motherf***king Becky Hammon. She believed in us when no one did. She brought us back to life. And I’m so appreciative of what you do and how you pour into each and every last one of us. We go nowhere without Becky Hammon,” Wilson said.

It was her support, belief, and encouragement that helped the side to rise above the rest. Also, the American-Russian HC’s strategies and rotation decision worked perfectly in the playoffs, as she also improved her WNBA finals record to 10-2. Fans will hope to see this winning combination for a long time.
