The Las Vegas Aces got hold of their third championship ring in the last four years. And even if nobody gives due credit to A’ja Wilson, her performance speaks for itself. After she helped the team sweep off the Phoenix Mercury in the Finals, social media fans erupted at Wilson’s performance in Game 4.
However, a recent heartfelt comment from her teammate, Megan Gustafson, led to a quick reaction from Wilson. While she’s soaking in the offseason mood, the Aces star still made time to make her voice heard.
A’ja Wilson Reacts To Megan Gustafson’s Callout
The four-time WNBA MVP fired off a Threads response to Gustafson’s Instagram post celebrating the team’s third title in four years. The Aces veteran turned a rather lighthearted “callout” into a viral moment of sisterly banter.

“Thankful & grateful, my heart is absolutely full! I came to this organization wanting one thing: a championship. And we did it! The season had so many ups and downs, especially when I was injured for half of it. But I’m so proud of how I came back and had the best support system in the world while doing so!” Gustafson earlier wrote.
“@ Meg they ain’t draft me to pass bookie pop!!! We champs and I love ya long time,” A’ja Wilson clapped back on Threads.

Gustafson, the star center who battled back from injury to contribute to the sweep over Phoenix, had gushed about her first ring that prompted Wilson’s cheeky retort. Despite the latest back and forth, Wilson had a historic season she would want to look back at even after years.
She averaged 26.8 points and 10 rebounds in the playoffs, earning Finals MVP. As free agency nears for Gustafson, the latest unrest might be a thing to keep in mind.
A’ja Wilson Had Nothing But Love For Becky Hammon
While she spared her offseason time to give it back to her teammate, earlier, A’ja Wilson’s voice cracked with emotion during the Aces’ championship parade. Wilson turned the spotlight on coach Becky Hammon, crediting her with resurrecting the team’s soul.
“I cannot talk long because Becky will have me crying up here. But when you’re talking about a woman that pours into you, that sacrifices for you, that loves you for who you are, that’s that mother-f**king Becky Hammon. And she believed in us when no one did. She brought us back to life. And I’m so appreciative of what you do and how you pour into each and every last one of us,” Wilson said.
"[Becky Hammon] believed in us when no one did. She brought us back to life."

Amid the Strip’s roaring crowds at Toshiba Plaza, Wilson wrapped an arm around Hammon and had an emotional reaction to her coach. However, Hammon’s fourth season as the league’s highest-paid coach at $1 million annually delivered gold, as the Aces overcame a 14-14 start and injuries to Kiah Stokes and Chelsea Gray.
