The WNBA 2026 season is a long-awaited one. With the players fighting for pay equity for a long time, at one point, the season looked in danger. But now, as everything is sorted, the biggest point of interest is the expansion draft. And there have been some wild predictions about the same. According to a recent report, Angel Reese has been rumored to team up with Flau’Jae Johnson.
Next up, Caitlin Clark has the possibility to team up with Gabriela Jacquez. And while we are talking about the big names of the league, we surely cannot leave out A’ja Wilson. Having played some phenomenal basketball, the speculations were high regarding her future in the league. Thankfully, she has announced a major career update.

A’ja Wilson Re-affirms Her Loyalty To The Las Vegas Aces
Wilson was in some red-hot form last season. Steering the Aces to a championship run, the 29-year-old was featured in the Vogue magazine cover last year. Now, as she is busy at the Team USA camp right now, speculations about whether she will return for the Aces or not have been mounting. Reflecting on the topic, the 3-time WNBA champion confirmed that she will be suiting up for the Aces this year.
“I know exactly where I am. I know I love Vegas. I’m not leaving Vegas, so I’m not looking anywhere… looking to win another one. I’m looking to defend a championship that we have in Las Vegas... looking to get better as a leader, as a player, so everything else just kind of falls in line,” said Wilson as reported by Madeline Kenney.

This comes just days after the Las Vegas Review-Journal pointed out that the front office is ready to re-sign Wilson for a $1.4 million supermax. Now, coming to her contributions for the team, the 4-time WNBA MVP has remained loyal to the Aces for the entirety of her eight-year career. Owing to her incredible surge, Becky Hammon dropped a Michael Jordan comparison last year.

Why Did Becky Hammon Compare A’ja Wilson With Michael Jordan?

When a head coach heaps praise on an athlete, it is always special. Dropping a stellar performance last season, Wilson averaged a double-double for two consecutive seasons. Logging in averages of 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game, the head coach could not help but compare her favorite student with the legends of the game.
“If she’s the best ever to play in the WNBA, I could make a strong argument she is the best ever to walk this planet,” said Hammon.
