When stars align perfectly, every wish will come true, and A’ja Wilson had a similar experience in 2025. Winning the championship, Wilson opened up on why the 2025 championship was the most rewarding one. And now she had another reward in her personal life.
A season ago, Aces’ star answered a question about the celebrity she wished to see at courtside. Her quick response was Beyoncé. The forward loves and follows the Pop icon. Her wish came true in 2025, when the star met the 44-year-old singer at a Las Vegas GP. Although she ‘acted’ normally at the time, her reaction afterwards revealed her true excitement.

A’ja Wilson Opens Up On Meeting Beyonce
The 29-year-old WNBA Star was a special guest at the possible title decider in the F1 2025 season. The champion was a fitting attendee at the event and met her idol.
Talking about meeting Beyonce, Wilson said, “It was super cool, Beyonce is someone that I’ve always wanted to meet because I admired her work.”

A’ja Wilson Earns AP Women’s Athlete Of The Year Award
After winning every possible award in the WNBA, the one high praise missing from the 6-foot-4 forward’s resume: AP Athlete of the Year, but her extraordinary 2025 season ticked that box, too, as Wilson won the AP Women’s Athlete of the Year award for 2025.

She earned 17 votes out of 47 to beat challengers like Aryna Sabalenka and Paige Bueckers. Although this is her first such accolade, only four WNBA stars have won the award before her, highlighting the difficulty of competing against athletes from other sports as well. Sheryl Swoopes, Rebecca Lobo, Candace Parker, and Caitlin Clark were earlier winners of the accolade.
The 2025 season really had been a ‘fulfilling’ one for the four-time MVP, and she wishes to continue making a similar impact on the games to achieve higher goals.
