Looking at her illustrious career, no one would doubt the player’s claims about influencing the game, but she touched a sensitive issue that is hardly on the agenda for any female athlete. Her former coach, Dawn Staley, also opened up on body shaming challenges women have to combat in sports, which highlights how difficult it is to concentrate and play at the highest level.
