The Las Vegas Aces won the 2025 WNBA championship, but a great deal of emotion and effort went into the behind-the-scenes work. A’ja Wilson showed her feelings as she hugged her family and boyfriend Bam Adebayo, while NaLyssa Smith also shared the moment with her girlfriend DiJonai Carrington.
Becky Hammon delivers emotional tribute to team bonding during post-game interview. While the Aces stayed together in the tough time as a family, there is always a special bond between players that stood out from the rest, and the former South Carolina forward shares the same feeling towards Jackie Young.
A’ja Wilson Calls Jackie Young ‘Unwanted Sister’
The Las Vegas Aces are at the top of the world, with players poking fun at each other and enjoying the hard-earned championship. After the triumph, many memorable taunts and dialogues emerged as players spent time together.

During the 2022 championship run, A’ja Wilson taunted Young with a funny jab during an interview with ESPN. “That’s my little sister I never wanted, but God put in my life,” Wilson said.
While the Notre Dame guard also took it lightly, the pair went on to clinch two more titles in the next three seasons, including the dominant 2025 one. While the 6-foot-4 forward dominated the games and won multiple MVP accolades, Young also remained a key member of the team. In the 2025 playoffs, Young broke the WNBA Finals record with a third-quarter point surge in Game 2 and also remained consistent for most of the playoffs.

A’ja Wilson-Jackie Young Duo Ensures The Las Vegas Aces’ Bright Future
While the guard-forward combination topped the Aces in several statistics and games, it should be noted that both players are under 30. Wilson, at 29, is an explosive scorer and phenomenal defender, and the 28-year-old guard is a ‘silent assassin’ when it comes to scoring and playmaking.
Chelsea Gray recently celebrated her 33rd birthday and is becoming an increasingly valuable opportunity creator for her teammates. Young and Wilson, with that, are the team’s go-to scorers and point of success.
The Aces’ past coach, Bill Laimbeer, spoke of the chemistry between the two superstars and stated, “You two are a team forever. Don’t ever leave each other.” Although the hope is that they remain with the duo in the Aces, they will be free agents following the 2025 season and, subject to the CBA negotiations, may re-sign with a new contract with the Las Vegas franchise.
