It was an intense game, and fans in the Target Center could feel the tensions rising. The Las Vegas Aces entered the game after a heavy defeat to the Indiana Fever and needed to win against an even more formidable opponent in Minnesota. But the hosts kept piling up the pressure, which was too much for Aja Wilson to handle.
At one moment in the game, the reigning MVP lost control and pushed Kayla McBride to the ground. Everyone was in shock as the video quickly went viral. Social media also reacted, bashing the Aces’ superstar for her hard foul.
Fans React To A’ja Wilson’s Hard Push On Kayla McBride
The moment came as the Lynx were coming back from the halftime deficit and starting to take control of the game. Ironically, the Aces lost the previous game against the Fever, despite having a halftime lead. Kayla McBride provided a screen to give her leading scorer, Napheesa Colier, an open look at the basket.
But the Aces’ blocks leader wanted to contest the shot and tried to get closer to ‘Phee’. McBrde’s position blocked her, and the frustrated LV forward pushed her down. Napheesa Collier was shocked by the turn of events, while Wilson looked frustrated with the ‘screen’, who didn’t even flinch following the hard push.
Fans were amazed by the former South Carolina star’s actions and reacted to the video posted on social media.
A fan got angry with Wilson’s push and wrote, “She’s such a bum and boring to watch.”

Aja Wilson And Aces Are Losing Ground In Playoffs Spot
It becomes a habit when you have tasted success for three consecutive seasons. And the habits are hard to let go of. So the 2022 and 2023 season champions were one of the top teams in the league, with an MVP player on the roster and many key role players to support her.

In 2025, the franchise made slight changes, assembling a young yet impactful roster around their prized asset to challenge the likes of the New York Liberty, Minnesota Lynx, and other contender teams. The forward is setting records with her new team. Sadly, things didn’t pan out as expected, and losses to the Indiana Fever, Washington Mystics, and even against the expansion team Valkyries raised concerns over their effectiveness.
Currently standing in seventh place with a 12-13 record, the team will have to stay ahead of the Fever franchise (after losing the season series) to ensure a place in the playoffs. In 2024, they entered as defending champs and lost the opening-round series. This season, even a place in the postseason looks difficult for them unless they get some wins under their belt.
