Allisha Gray is living the Atlanta Dream quite literally! While Gray was always a seasoned campaigner, her entry to the All-Star team remained restricted. And for seven long years she waited. Until 2023, when Gray joined the Atlanta Dream. And just like that, in 2025, Gray is a three-time All-Star already!
And that is not all. What was more surprising was the fact that Gray was named as a starter for the All-Star lineup. Rising to elite ranks, the 30-year-old could not hide her enthusiasm as she spoke her heart out.
Allisha Gray Wants To Continue Going Forward With Patience
Since joining the Dream, Gray’s career has taken off. To give context, the Dream’s star has averaged 18.2 points, 3.7 assists, and 5.6 rebounds in the month of June. She also shot 41.5% from the three-point line with a 45.1% shooting from the field. Impressed by her antics, head coach Karl Smesko hailed her as one of the best in the league. Soaking in all the attention and recognition, Gray expressed her relief at being able to shed the ‘underrated’ tag.
Gray pointed out that she felt underappreciated for a majority of her career. But she is now happy things are coming around in full circle. She also stressed waiting patiently for her time and capitalizing on it right away.
“It means a lot. I feel like I’ve deserved it for a long time. I feel like I’ve been labeled an underrated player for the majority of my career. For me, I just stay patient and continue to work hard, and when my time comes I’ll be ready. And I feel like my time is finally coming up. I’m ready to accept it,” said Gray. (via ClutchPoints)
