The UConn Huskies’ undefeated season ended unceremoniously with Geno Auriemma and Dawn Staley’s heated exchange making the headlines. Although later Auriemma praised Staley in his second apology, the ‘game time’ ending was very ugly, overshadowing the players’ performances. One player who stood out the entire season, though, was Sarah Strong.
The Spanish star was one of the ‘unanimous’ AP Player of the Year winners with her overall impact on the games, nearly single-handedly leading the most decorated program to its ‘destiny’.
While everyone saw her on court performances ruling the NCAA World, she also dominates her home, according to her mother Allison Feaster, with her nature. She gave an example of the same.

Sarah Strong Jokingly Calls Her Mother A Flashback
The 20-year-old’s off-court appearances so far had been the interviews only, with some flashes of her TikTok Video showing her fun nature. In interviews, the player is also always on the mark and witty. Interestingly, her mother recently pointed out her ‘similar’ traits at home too.
Answering the question, ‘the trait that stands out, making her so special,’ Feaster said, “Hopefully you gained a little bit through her personality, with the shade she threw at me up there. Yeah, she said ‘Mom played so many years ago’,” the interviewer recalled. “She calls me a throwback basically,” Feaster explained.

As for Sarah Strong, the player continues to make records in the league. Winning the Katrina McClain Award, she set a unique record for her college, and now, with another accolade, she completed the award sweep in the 2025 season.

She’s just the fourth underclassman to win the Wooden since it was established for women in 2004, joining Maya Moore (2009), Paige Bueckers (2021) and JuJu Watkins (2025).
The award represents the player who excels on the court, in the classroom, and in character, embodying coach John Wooden’s values of excellence and leadership. With the award, the young star joined Paige Bueckers, Maya Moore, and JuJu Watkins, who won every award in the year.
