The WNBA and WNBPA exchanged multiple proposals so far, with fans and analysts expecting the gap between the two to close drastically after 17 months of discussions. But in reality, they are still far from closing the deal with a massive gap between the players’ demands and the league’s offer. Vice President Alysha Clark spoke about the same in a recent interview.
Earlier, the WNBPA submitted its revised demands to the league, but the WNBA is still sticking to its 15% revenue-sharing offer and continuing to work on other terms in its original offer. This frustrated the former Seattle Storm player, who also criticized the same.

The WNBPA faced allegations of rift among the players. While PA clarified the same, they conducted a survey of players’ views on the WNBA’s latest offer. They even released a statement that 84% of players are not happy with the proposal.
In the interview with NBA Today, the WNBPA VP said, “We are at a place where we feel the proposals the league has sent haven’t been good ones. We want to continue to fight for what we know we deserve, and we hope that at some point the league decides to have that sentiment towards this as well.”

Reporter Callie J Law also shared the news of players taking their foot off the pedal. The forward explained the stance of the players’ association and its members. Replying to a thread by Callie J Law, she said the strike is still very much on the table.
She showed trust in the reporter and added, “Players expressing their personal opinion on not loving the idea of a strike vs it is being taken off the table is very different. I know some of the interviews I have watched also said we are prepared and have been preparing should one be called.”
