The team has won just one game with AR5 so far, highlighting her impact on the game. But maybe her presence in the game would have mattered less, such was the form of Phoenix Mercury star Alyssa Thomas.
The veteran forward controlled the game in all aspects, recording another triple-double in her illustrious career. With that, she boosts her league record in the category.
Alyssa Thomas Extends Lead In Triple-Double Stat
Spending 11 seasons with the Connecticut Sun, the star had already held the record for the most triple-doubles in the league. She had an astonishing 16 triple-doubles, 12 more than the players at the second position.
In the game against the Sky, the 33-year-old forward had a perfect ‘10’ performance. She had 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in just 30 minutes of gameplay. It took her tally to 17 triple-doubles, and second for the Mercury team.

Alyssa Thomas Is Having The Best Season At The Phoenix Mercury
The six-time All-Star moved to the Arizona-based franchise in a massive four-team trade. Pairing with another All-Star, Satou Sabally, the forward hit the ground running right from the start. Return of Kahleah Copper and DeWanna Bonner boasted the team’s rotation, taking some pressure off the 6-foot-2 forward.
While she was a megastar even before joining the Mercury team, Thomas made a massive upgrade in all departments of the game for the franchise. Apart from her gameplay, she brought in energy and competitive fire to the team. HC Nate Tibbetts loves everything about his star forward.

“I think that’s who she is. I want her to be competitive. She’s not afraid of anything or anybody. And you need those players on your team if you’re going to be a great team. And she completely sets the tone with that,” HC said in the podcast (Via Burns and Gambo Show Podcast).
The record-setting star leads the team in rebounds (8.5 per game), assists (9 per game), and steals (1.4 per game) while scoring 16.2 points for the side.
