Many injured players have been involved in the 2025 WNBA season. Coaches, the media, and analysts have criticized the league’s growing physicality, pinpointing some of the season-ending injuries that impacted the teams. Alyssa Thomas, on the other hand, has had other views.
Talking to Hoops 360, the star forward discussed many topics, including the preparations for the playoff game and the physicality of the game. During the interview, Thomas warned the Mercury about the Minnesota Lynx for Game 3.
Alyssa Thomas Opened Up On Physical Plays

Ironically, a day before the match-up, Alyssa Thomas supported the physical plays in the WNBA to some extent, mentioning that she is a physical player and also faces physical defense on her.
“I feel like people just play physically with me in general. I’m a physical player as well. If you’ve been through the playoffs, it’s just how it is. I embrace it, I love it, and it’s what you have to anticipate when it’s playoff time,” Thomas said in the interview.
