The Phoenix Mercury was one of the dark horses of the 2025 WNBA season, and they bulldozed their way to the finals with wins over both 2024 finalists. Even though the Aces whitewashed the final series, the Mercury team earned praise for their top-notch season.
But Thomas received massive fan backlash after the forward joined Project B. While that’s not the only league she will be playing in the off-season, as the star will be in action next in the Unrivaled league.

The face of the franchise is once again AT, who finished the WNBA Season as the regular season MVP finalist and even league finalist. In the first season, the team reached the playoffs.

Alyssa Thomas And Laces BC Are One Of the Favorites
Laces BC chose productivity during the Unrivaled draft night. The side kept both their star players – Thomas and Jackie Young – while adding another impactful player, such as Naz Hillmon, Jordin Canada, Brittany Sykes, and Maddy Siegrist, to complete the roster. With this, the team can field a capable trio on playmaking, defense, and scoring.

With two other top players – Satou Sabally and Napheesa Collier missing the season 2, the Laces will have a slight upper hand in the games against the Owls and Phantom BC. Other challengers include Rose BC and Mist BC, which have deeper rosters similar to the Laces.
Two new teams, Breeze BC and Hive BC, will also pose a serious threat with young players looking to put a challenge.
