Everything about the Indiana Fever is like family. Everyone in the organization is very much connected at a personal level. GM Amber Cox is no exception. Cox lauded Sophie Cunningham’s induction into the Hall of Fame and even praised superstar Caitlin Clark for her Nike commercial.
Though this shows how much the senior executive is involved with the players, she is also involved with the other sports teams of her franchise cities. It’s not about the Indiana Pacers or the Indiana Colts, but this time it’s about the Kansas City Chiefs.

Amber Cox Showing Support for the Kansas City Chiefs
After 13 years, the Chiefs will no longer be part of the NFL playoffs. The side went to five Super Bowls in the last six years and won three titles. Even though the Eagles handed them a tough loss in the recent Super Bowl, the team was still a contender in the ongoing season.
But after a slow start, the side couldn’t manage to put up a challenge for the playoff spot. After the team’s fate was decided early, Cox recently shared a post showing support for the Chiefs. “Feeling a void without the Chiefs,” Cox wrote on X.

As for the Fever team, the 50-year-old was happy with the team’s progress to the playoffs without CC. And now the GM is ready with her strategy in the offseason.
Amber Cox Opens Up On Fever’s Offseason Strategy
The combination of the 2026 free agency, expansion draft, and draft makes it one of the exciting offseasons in the league’s history, given the side’s fan following and the expectations of these fans, Cox needs to be on point with her decisions. A reporter asked her about her strategy.
“I think we control the controllables. start prepping for, obviously, the college season, for what’s going on internationally, planning out our scouting, both domestically and internationally. We are talking to all the players (during exit interviews), obviously focused on development plans for them, finding out what their needs are, and how we can support them. So really, just focus on what we can control, and as things roll out, we’ll be ready to go. That’s the biggest thing — plan, as much as you can,” Cox told reporters.
"I'm certainly grateful to be in this organization and I wouldn't want to be anywhere else. And really part of this community. You've seen the outpouring of support from our fans showing up every single night."
