Sophie Cunningham is having the time of her life at the moment. Ever since joining the Indiana Fever earlier this year, her graph has been on the rise. And while Jason Whitlock seemed unhappy with Cunningham, that did very little to dent her confidence. To make matters even brighter, Cunningham has recently received a big honor from the University of Missouri. And looking at the accolade, Fever general manager Amber Cox cannot be happier.
Cunningham was recently inducted into the University of Missouri’s Hall of Fame. Playing some incredible games for her college, this honor meant a lot for the Fever star. And Cox readily heaped a lot of praise on the 29-year-old.

Cunningham might have earned the ‘enforcer’ tag following her knack for stepping up for Caitlin Clark. However, before coming to the WNBA realm, she was a Missouri girl. Thus, when the Mizzou product received the honor, the excitement within her was pretty much palpable. And she was not alone. Standing alongside her were other stalwarts from the University. It included Mike Alden, Alyssa Munlyn, and Brock Olivio.

Well, while Cunningham came back from the ceremony with her heart full, she still had some more surprises coming her way. Taking to her X, formerly known as Twitter account, Fever GM, Cox heaped praises on the Fever guard. She also posted a picture alongside Cunningham from the event. “Incredible night in Columbia honoring Sophie! Hall of Famer! She means so much to the Tiger program, the entire state of Missouri (and beyond),” Cox tweeted. “Congrats, Sophie! And s/o to the entire Mizzou athletic department – appreciate the hospitality! MIZ,” wrote Cox.

Well, such an outing came as a breath of fresh air from her injury-ridden season. While Fever will be toughing it out in the playoffs, the 29-year-old will have to watch from the sidelines. Meanwhile, known to be unfiltered with her take on current affairs, Cunningham recently shared a bold take on the Angel Reese controversy.

Sophie Cunningham Shares A Bold Take On The Angel Reese Controversy
Reese recently interacted with the Chicago Tribune. And her comments had the entire WNBA reeling. Lashing out at the Chicago Sky for their poor run, the 23-year-old star stated that the team will need to add more quality players. She also pointed fingers at her teammates, especially Courtney Vandersloot, citing that she would be too old to return next year. And while all these statements continued to draw some significant criticisms from the masses, Cunningham did not hide her true feelings while reflecting on the matter.

“No, that’s not great. I get when you’re losing and it’s been a frustrating season, everyone is feeling those emotions. And when I say everyone, it’s not just her. I’m sure her teammates feel it, her coaches feel it, the organization, the fans — literally everyone feels that. There’s some things that you can’t say. I think one of my biggest things is I’m a very team-first person. I always put the team before my feelings, and I think that should be a standard,” Cunningham said.
Surely, it is evident that Cunningham is not afraid to put forth her opinions. And while she will be coming back next season, fans will be excited to see some more fireworks from the 29-year-old enforcer.
