As the WNBA gains a lot of momentum, the comparison with the NBA has been coming in sharply. Only recently, Patrick Beverly claimed that the Las Vegas Aces can beat an NBA side. Soon after the comments became public, Beverly faced a lot of backlash.
Most fans and critics stated that it was not possible for a WNBA team to get the better of a men’s team. And weighing in further on the matter were Lonzo Ball and Michael Porter Jr.
In a recent comment, Porter Jr. stated that he would have beaten a WNBA team while in ninth grade. However, immediately after the statement went viral, it was Angel McCoughtry who hit back at the NBA star.

Angel McCoughtry Lashes Out At Michael Porter Jr. For WNBA Comments
Lonzo Ball and Michael Porter Jr. recently appeared in an episode of the ‘Ball in the Family’ podcast. Delving into the NBA vs. WNBA topic, Porter Jr. claimed that he dominated the field against WNBA players while he was in the 7th or 8th grade. He also pointed out how the team he dominated also had big names like Sophie Cunningham.
And such comments did not sit well with WNBA legend McCoughtry. Speaking on the issue in an episode of the ‘Higher Learning with Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay,’ McCoughtry said, “I think the main thing we should be talking about a woman, guess what? When I got to come and drop 40 and I’m on my f***ing period and I’m bleeding and my stomach hurts and my back hurts, when y’all load manage off a headache. Guess what? Let’s talk about how awesome that is.”

What Exactly Did Michael Porter Jr. Say About WNBA Players?
Debating on the topic of Patrick Beverley’s claim of the Aces beating an NBA team, it was Lonzo Ball who initiated the conversation. He pointed out that he would easily beat a WNBA team while in ninth grade.

Adding further to the narrative, Porter Jr. came up with his own alleged experience from childhood. He said, “They had a few WNBA players on their team like, Sophie Cunningham and a couple others. I was in the 7th or 8th grade going crazy. So, I have real life experience. It’s just a difference and I wish this would stop being a conversation because it should be common sense. I appreciate common sense. I feel sometimes that’s lost a little bit,” said Porter Jr.
Thus, with things getting heated up, fans will now be eager to see if there are any more repercussions to Porter Jr’s comments.
