The WNBA-NBA comparison has been taking a complicated course at the moment. Following the WNBA victory of the Las Vegas Aces, the likes of Patrick Beverly claimed that the Aces can defeat an NBA team.
Soon after, a series of conversations ensued, during which fans and critics shared their views on the matter. In fact, soon after the comment, Beverly did face a lot of backlash from the fans.
Continuing the conversation recently, Lonzo Ball claimed that he could beat a WNBA team in the ninth grade. Adding further to the narrative was Michael Porter Jr., who stated that he had already done the same in eighth grade. Well, this was a statement that Angel McCoughtry did not seem to like at all.

Angel McCoughtry Has A Hilarious Question For Michael Porter Jr.
Porter Jr. seems to be facing a lot of flak for his recent comments on the WNBA. Supporting Ball’s claims, Porter Jr. pointed out that he already dominated a field of players with WNBA athletes while he was in eighth grade.
Reacting to the same, McCoughtry expressed her disdain as she asked the Brooklyn Nets star, “First of all, congratulations. You were dominating against women in the eighth grade. What does he want? Does he want a cookie? You want a medal for that? The only thing that should be coming out of a man’s mouth about women is uplifting her.”

Surely, such statements will not put the Nets’ star in a very comfortable spot. Meanwhile, despite the backlash, Sophie Cunningham surprisingly backed the claim.
Sophie Cunningham Makes Surprisingly Supports Michael Porter Jr.
While almost the entire WNBA realm is having a go at the Nets’ star, Cunningham surprisingly stated that what Porter Jr. said was quite normal.

“This is my personal opinion. But if you are a professional football player, basketball player, really any sport… If you’re in that elite level group, yeah, you should be able to beat the girls. I’m not surprised by that. I just don’t get why it’s continuing to get brought up,” said Cunningham.
The debate between the WNBA and the NBA is currently garnering divided opinions. As varied opinions continue, it remains to be seen what further backlash Michael Porter Jr. will face in the coming days.
