The WNBA realm is buzzing with anticipation since Angel Reese’s controversial comments against her Sky teammates surfaced. Soon after the incident, the Chicago Sky issued a statement suspending Reese for half a game. With coach Tyler Marsh stating that the front office will be dealing with the situation internally, things were expected to get toned down. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. And now, Gilbert Arenas is proposing a bold team-up with Caitlin Clark!
Clark and Reese both came into the WNBA at the same time. As both the stars played some impressive basketball in their rookie years, they were termed as future stars. However, the rivalry between the two was very much evident in the first year too. And while things are looking rocky between Reese and Sky, Arenas wants a blockbuster trade to happen.
Gilbert Arenas Backs High-Profile Trade Uniting Angel Reese And Caitlin Clark
The noise is growing around the 23-year-old with each passing day. As more and more critics come up and lash out at the Chi-town Barbie, things have looked pretty out of sorts. In a recent report, the Sky front office is rumored to be seeking a trade for Reese. And if it really happens, Arenas wants the Indiana Fever to make a strong push for the Sky star.

“If I’m the Indiana Fever, I’m making a push for Angel. CC and Angel??? I’m selling out everything I’m selling!!” Arenas wrote on his Threads account.

And this was not all. Arenas also went on to explain why exactly pairing the Sky star with Clark is a good idea. He stated that both stars have completely different styles of play. This will make the Fever almost invincible and eliminate the bullying that Clark faces otherwise. Meanwhile, with the controversy gaining momentum, Fever guard Sophie Cunningham had a bold take on the matter.

Sophie Cunningham Shares Her Take On Angel Reese‘s Sky Comment
Cunningham recently doubled down on the controversial comments made by the 23-year-old. In an interaction with the Chicago Tribunal, the 23-year-old expressed her frustration with her teammates. She pointed out how, apart from herself and Kamilla Cardoso, nobody else might be returning to the side in the coming year.

However, the Chi-town Barbie also noted that the front office needed to sign quality players right now. Otherwise, Reese would try to find other teams to play for. Reacting to the same, Cunningham stated that she understood how one can be frustrated while the team is in a slump. But she also preferred not to have her emotions get out publicly.
“No, that’s not great. I get when you’re losing and it’s been a frustrating season, everyone is feeling those emotions. And when I say everyone, it’s not just her. I’m sure her teammates feel it, her coaches feel it, the organization, the fans — literally everyone feels that. There’s some things that you can’t say. I think one of my biggest things is I’m a very team-first person. I always put the team before my feelings, and I think that should be a standard,” Cunningham said.
Surely, the situation around Reese is getting intense. And if the Sky really wants to go for a trade, will Fever really make the push? We’ll have to wait and watch.
