The Chicago Sky exit interviews were going on, where every star reflected on their views for the 025 season and also spoke about their future plans. Angel Reese missed the exit interview and took a flight to Las Vegas to attend the Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez bout.
Cameras caught Reese meeting Terence Crawford backstage, showing her support for the 37-year-old star boxer. And after his incredible win, she proudly posted on ‘X’.
Angel Reese’s Self-Acknowledgement Moment
The former LSU star was under fire for her comments on the Chicago Sky teammates’ performances. Even though she apologized for her words, her actions were not ‘in line’ with her apology. She sat out the next few games and even missed the franchise’s exit interviews, rescheduling them to another date with prior commitment.

Her prior commitment included attending the Terence Crawford vs Canelo Alvarez bout in Las Vegas. The Nebraska-born star won the fight and entered an exclusive club as the first men’s boxer in the four-belt era to earn undisputed status in three weight classes (junior welterweight, welterweight and super middleweight).
While he won the super middleweight title with an undisputed vote, the WNBA forward got excited and shared a post with a video of her meeting the boxer and wrote, “DUBS IN THE CHAT.”

The star made a stylish appearance at the fight, which is available on Netflix. Interestingly, Reese is making her acting debut with a Netflix movie in which she plays herself. While her off-court success is booming, her on-court performance disappoints. But the franchise is showing trust in the forward.
Chicago Sky GM Backs Angel Reese To Stay
The 23-year-old star’s comments and events that followed after that put her under the spotlight for unwanted reasons. Many believed that the player would be playing her last season with the Windy City franchise. But the GM showed trust in the forward.
“Angel is an ascending young talent in this league who’s had two very, very good seasons here in Chicago. Obviously we went through what we did. I feel like we closed the chapter on it. She spoke to her teammates; she spoke publicly. We moved on as a team. She’s a special player. And I have good conversations with Angel and her team daily. They’re constant, and they’re productive,” said the Chicago Sky’s GM Jeff Pagliocca.
While the franchise is trying to hold on to its prized assets, it needs to show some improvements to convince her to stay.
