Angel Reese is having some tough times with her teammates. In a recent controversial interview, the 23-year-old lashed out at her teammates. With the Sky underperforming two years in a row, Reese seemed to have had enough of it. With the rumors going wild about the Sky parting ways with Reese, things have been looking quite complicated. And now, a recent report has detailed the rift between Reese and Courtney Vandersloot.
The Sky had their worst season last year, and this year, too, they ended with a 10-34 record. Quite expectedly, such a poor showing did not sit well with the Chi-town Barbie. But her criticism of Vandersloot is now reportedly proving too much for the veteran point guard to take.
Courtney Vandersloot Upset By Angel Reese’s Words
In her viral interview with the Chicago Tribune, she had some serious, harsh words for Vandersloot. Speaking about the veteran, the 23-year-old rookie guard stated that she was too old to come back for the next year. In fact, Reese also hinted at leaving the franchise if the front office did not add quality players for the next season. In a recent update from Chicago Tribune’s Julian Poe, it was reported that Vandersloot is utterly upset with Reese’s comments.

“One crucial step would be repairing her relationship with Courtney Vandersloot, who is considered internally to be the player most upset by Reese’s questioning of whether the Sky can rely on the veteran to return from a torn ACL,” Poe continued.

Now then, this will surely be a tough task for the Chi-town Barbie. Courtney Vandersloot Confirms Her 2026 Comeback Despite Angel Reese Comments
Reese did apologise to her teammates for her detrimental comments. But that did very little to curb the backlash. Meanwhile, following Reese’s criticism, Vandersloot had a candid conversation with Shimmy Miller. The 36-year-old missed the season due to her ACL injury. However, fans expect her to return next season, even though the Sky’s frontline star claimed otherwise. Speaking on the controversy, Vandersloot stated that age is not at all a factor for her. The veteran point guard also confirmed that she will be available for the next season and is looking forward to it.

“Contrary to what people say or think, my age is absolutely not a factor. I am coming back. I’m gonna come back better than ever because that’s what I’ve done. I’ve put myself in the position to come back and compete at this age,” said Vandersloot.
Now then, this will be quite an awkward situation between the two. Fans now eagerly wait to see how Reese and Vandersloot gel going forward.
