The Chicago Sky are still looking for their groove this season as they continue to spiral in the team standings with a 5-12 win-loss card following their latest loss to the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, 80-75.
The Sky have the second-worst record in the league, only a bit better than the Connecticut Sun, who are languishing at the bottom with only two victories to show in 18 outings.
Chicago led early on against Minnesota Lynx, 24-10, but failed to sustain the momentum throughout the match.
Angel Reese Blasts Referee For Sky’s Lack Of Free Throws
Angel Reese had another stellar showing for the Sky in a losing effort with 16 points, 17 rebounds, and six assists. She tallied her 11th double-double of the season.
While Reese could’ve taken consolation in her consistently strong performance, she couldn’t help but express her disappointment with the referees, particularly with the discrepancy in free throws. The Sky only attempted eight, while the Minnesota Lynx had 17.

“It’s tough when you talk to officials and I ask them, ‘Hey, we only shot two, we’ve only been to the free throw line twice,’ up until the fourth quarter, and she tells me it’s not her job. It’s frustrating because I know how hard we’re battling inside and I think we came down and fought as hard as we could inside. That has to be fixed,” Reese said in a report from CBS Sports’ Robby Kalland.

The 23-year-old forward wasn’t done and doubled down on her furious take. She made it known that she was aware that the league might sanction her. She, however, still refused to mince words. Curiously, the Lynx got into 17 fouls, while the Sky fell one short at 16.
Angel Reese As A Passionate Player
Ever since her college days at LSU, Reese has always been a player who wears her heart on her sleeve. Sometimes to a fault. But it’s hard to question her passion for the game, especially when it comes to standing up for her squad.
She also likes to be physical, even getting into scuffles with opponents at times. But it’s all part of Reese’s in-your-face style, which has quickly endeared her to the people of Chicago.
In her sophomore season, when she got the All-Star nod, Reese is averaging a double-double. Her stats included 12.6 points and 12.8 rebounds on top of 3.9 assists and 1.6 steals per game.
