Angel Reese has been involved in several off-court activities recently. She created history by becoming the very first professional female athlete to debut for Victoria’s Secret. And that’s not all. The 23-year-old also made an appearance at the CFDA Awards, raising her star power further.
However, as the basketball season comes closer, the Chicago Sky star is looking to get back to business. Just recently, Reese confirmed her return to the Chicago Sky in 2026. And now, as she has earned a call-up to the U.S. national team, her basketball responsibilities will only increase.
But instead of feeling the pressure, the Bayou Barbie looks to be in a jolly mood. While enjoying her time at the national camp, Reese explained why officials selected a group of youngsters for the camp.
Angel Reese Details Why Exactly Team USA Relied On Young Guns
As of now, it looks like Team USA is inclining towards its young prospects. In the recent training camp, the team called up Reese, Caitlin Clark, and rookie Paige Bueckers.

And this is pretty much evident, as ten attendees to the camp are under the age of 25. While players like A’ja Wilson, Sabrina Ionescu, and others are expected to join later, Reese explained the reason behind their call-ups.
“Everybody wants to make the team. It’s an honor to be even in this camp,” Reese said. “They didn’t just select us for no reason. They handpicked us because they thought we would bring something to the table.”

Caitlin Clark Echoes Similar Sentiment To Angel Reese Towards Team USA Call-Up
Clark is no stranger to playing for her national team. However, most of her accolades came for the junior team. Winning as many as three gold medals, the Fever star recently represented the 2021 USA Women’s U19 National Team.

Thus, getting the call-up, Clark got emotional and said, “When you’re at the U-16 team, I remember they always talk about the Senior National Team. Obviously, that’s every young girl’s dream when you’re on those teams.”
