The WNBA offseason is not short on interesting events and news, as star players are busy with their social work, practice sessions, rehabs, public appearances, and even modeling.
Angel Reese is leading the WNBA players, as she is involved in most of these activities, taking unconventional routes and engaging in offbeat pursuits that no one had dreamed of.
DiJonai Carrington credited Reese for taking risks and opening doors to the WNBA’s future generations. While there is a lot of news around the Chicago Sky star, not all the news is true. The player recently addressed the same situation and warned her fans about it.
Angel Reese Speaks On Fake Quote Trends
Following her rocky relations with the Chicago Sky locker room, much news surrounded the 2024 rookie’s potential departure from the franchise. Moreover, there was news about Reese sending a warning to the WNBA about leaving the league unless the WNBPA’s demands are not agreed upon in ongoing CBA negotiations.

While all these news and storylines feel relatable, they are not true, as per Reese’s recent comment. The Sky forward responded to a social media post with a collection of fake news agenda against her. Reese wrote, “Rend really be DUE. Can’t believe everything you read.”

Trending WNBA News
The general reason for this fake news is trolls or clickbait. One form of trolling is associating quotes with her that she never said. There are a number of examples that later became memes. While the idea is to have fun with the quotes, associating them with Reese, it’s damaging her image and personality.
Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark are among the most talked-about personalities in the WNBA and faced such issues on a regular basis. The Two-time All-Star even made a special video about it.
Angel Reese Warns Fans Against Fake News
In her promo video for the ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast, the Sky forward spoke on fake news. In the video, she addressed some fake news and urged fans not to believe it. To prove her point, she took a viral meme on ‘Week’s Earnings’ as an example and addressed the fans.
Reese said, “Everything I say here, if you all don’t see the clip, you don’t see the video come from my mouth, or me saying certain things – don’t not believe it. There is somebody who said that something about I said that there are seven days in a week and there are seven something. What the **** you all are talking about? I never said that.”
While it’s always good practice to believe in a trusted source, the Chi-Town Barbie is undoubtedly one of the ‘targeted WNBA star’ for fake or clickbait news.
