Despite this, she is already improving every season as Reese caps off a strong 2025, as a social media post reveals her growth.
While the player often credited her coaches for her game, on the recent episode of Unapologetic Angel. She revealed that she hated playing for LSU’s HC Kim Mulkey. But then a heartfelt confession follows that shocking truth.

Angel Reese Hated Playing for Kim Mulkey
The Chicago Sky forward reached the peak of her college career in 2023 with an NCAA Championship and a record 34 double-doubles in a season. While she was a key player on the roster, Coach Mulkey used to pinpoint her mistakes every now and then, which irked the Chi-Town Barbie.
“She used to get on me bad, and I used to hate it in the moment. I used to like why is she always on me like that?” she admitted. But it didn’t take her long to realize that Coach Mulkey was making her tough for what lay ahead.
The player also revealed a session where Mulkey took the court and showed the young players why she is such a respected coach with her gameplay. Reese called her greedy and tough on the court.

“But then, when I got to the league, I’ll be like, ‘oh okay, like this is a standard.’ It was no walking in practice. It was no, not being ready to go. When you came and practice I was ready to go… But she’s out of heart, out of good love,” Reese added.

Kim Mulkey Opens Up On Her Real Feelings For Angel Reese
The Chicago Sky took on the Brazilian national team at the LSU home court with many fans cheering for their favourite star. One of them was Kim Mulkey, who saw her prodigy develop into a professional player and dominate the games.
“Angel just has a personality. She just attracts a lot of attention, and she’s authentic, and she’s a competitor. What is there not to like about Angel Reese when you’re pulling for her and she’s on your team?” Mulkey said.

While the player led the league in rebounds and set records for a double-double in the league, she even wanted to return to her Rose BC team, with whom she won the inaugural season of the Unrivaled league. Recently, Reese shared a heartfelt reaction to missing Unrivaled 2026, as she is working on her injuries.
