Fans are keeping tabs on the franchises’ decisions regarding free agency moves following the completion of the expansion draft. But the Atlanta Dream dropped a bombshell with a mega trade, acquiring Angel Reese from the Chicago Sky for two future first-round picks.
While Resse confirmed her return to the Sky franchise during the offseason, the move shocked everyone. Interestingly, the Sky couldn’t land any big asset in return and only got a 2027 first-round pick and a 2028 first-round pick from the Dream team.
The former LSU star, though, had a savage reaction to the move.

Angel Reese Responds To Atlanta Dream Move
During the closing phases of the 2025 season, there were frictions between the 2024 rookie and the Chicago Sky. Amid all the trade buzz, GM Jeff Pagliocca addressed the Chicago Sky’s stand on its two-time All-Star. But the rumors became reality as the Dream side made the move and added the 2023 NCAA champion to the roster, without losing a player.
Reese confirmed the news, re-sharing all the posts related to her trade, and later put her own reaction to the trade as she wrote, “An Angel’s DREAM. ATL WHAT UP?!”

Looking at the trade, the Sky team is moving forward with the rebuilding phase and sees Kamila Cardoso as its centerpiece.
The Dream Side reached the first round of the 2025 playoffs while the Sky didn’t make it to the postseason during the 24-year-old’s time with the Windy City. The All-Star players on the roster will give her the opportunity to compete for the championship.
Atlanta Dream Level Up For Upcoming Season With Angel Reese’s Addition
Following her April 2026 trade to the Atlanta Dream, Angel Reese is poised to turn the franchise into a WNBA championship contender by providing elite paint dominance and a relentless winning mentality. As a two-time All-Star who led the league in rebounding in both 2025 and 2026, Reese solves Atlanta’s historical frontcourt needs, crashing the boards and creating high-value second-chance points.

Her presence transforms the Dream’s offensive identity, allowing her to thrive alongside established stars Rhyne Howard and Allisha Gray. Reese’s elite ability to impact both ends of the floor with over 12 rebounds per game average, brings the energy and toughness coach Karl Smesko demands.
By dominating the paint, Reese frees up Howard and Gray on the perimeter, creating a balanced, elite team structure. Furthermore, her proven championship pedigree from her 2023 LSU title run brings invaluable experience to a Dream squad hungry to break their long title drought and secure the 2026 championship.
