Angel Reese has been looking to make some rapid improvements in her game. After facing heavy criticism for her shooting, Reese recently dropped a slick new jumper.
Now, while she is sharpening her hoop skills, the Chicago Sky star must take a stroll down memory lane to recall all her learnings at LSU. After all, it was her incredible stint for the Tigers back in 2023 that gave her an NCAA title and brought her to the limelight.
And surely enough, the Chi-Town Barbie is not forgetting her LSU days so soon. Despite Reese making waves spotlighting Amazon collaboration at the CFDA awards and trying to expand her boundaries beyond the WNBA, her close bond with LSU seems intact. In a recent turn of events, she wished one of her LSU teammates, Kateri Poole, a very happy birthday.
Angel Reese Drops Heartfelt Birthday Note For Kateri Poole
While Reese clinched the 2023 NCAA Tournament Most Outstanding Player award, Poole, too, played a significant part in propelling LSU’s campaign closer to the championship.

Throughout the season, Poole displayed some incredible defense that won some crucial games for LSU. Especially in the finals, her performance was stellar. She not only drained a couple of crucial three-pointers but also kept Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes at bay.
Thus, on the occasion of Poole’s birthday, Reese uploaded an Instagram story wishing her on her special day.

Surely, this was one of the sweetest gestures from Reese. Unfortunately, despite playing some incredible basketball, Poole’s campaign with the Tigers did not last long.
Angel Reese’s LSU Teammate, Kateri Poole, Was Sacked Immediately After Title Win
Poole and the Tigers’ NCAA title defense did not kick off on a good note. After the team suffered a series of losses, head coach Kim Mulkey dismissed Poole.

Unfortunately, Poole played only four games in LSU colors before the team traded her. Reflecting on the same, the LSU star stated, “Truthfully, [Mulkey] said that I sent in a scouting report to another school. I ain’t do that sh*t. … I was like, ‘What do we do now?’ She said, ‘You’re kicked off.’ I said, ‘Boom, aight.’ She said, ‘No longer on the team.’ I took it, asked if I could still play. She said ‘Yep.’ Scholarship, boom, was allowed to transfer. Now, I’m at Houston.”
Kateri Poole was a part of that championship LSU team that beat Caitlin Clark and the Iowa Hawkeyes 102-85 in 2023.
