The WNBA is all set for the 2026 extravaganza following the rapid movements right from the CBA negotiations in March to the WNBA Draft on April 13. The teams have all new faces, with Angel Reese also moving to the Atlanta team to fulfill her own dream of winning the championship.
Amid this, there was positive news from her previous franchise, the Chicago Sky, and the player is more than excited about it.

Angel Reese Happy for Her Former Coach
The 2024 rookie joined the Chicago Sky with high hopes following her NCAA championship and stellar college career. Although the player couldn’t replicate the magic in the WNBA, she delivered at the individual level and also formed great relationships within the organization, at least with a few people.
One of those close to the Barbie was Teresa Weatherspoon, who first coached the forward in the ‘W’ before the Sky franchise replaced her in 2025. Now, after a brief coaching stint in the Unrivaled league, the coach will be back in the WNBA as Prime Video adds her to its star-studded broadcaster lineup.
Reese quickly responded to the news, writing, “Happy for you.” She doubled down her excitement with another message: “Yuppppps.”
Interestingly, Reese was the first player to support Weatherspoon after her firing and also the first one to break the news to her. Now the former LSU star will be on the court, and Weatherspoon will be covering her game, offering her tips and opinions during the broadcast.

Angel Reese Ready To ‘Turn The Page’
Winning the title was always an aim for the 24-year-old star, and with the move to the Atlanta side, she would achieve the same a bit sooner. In her first press conference as an Atlanta player, she opened up on her views.
“I’m always going to be grateful for that because I did experience a lot of great things,” Reese said. “I enjoyed being able to grow within my first two years, but I wanted more. I love to win, I love to compete.”

“And I am not satisfied with what I am as a player, and I felt like being around these kinds of players would help me be better. I can help them in different ways to help them win, and that’s all I ever wanted. I don’t care about anything else that comes with it, I want to win and being able to come to an organization that really cared about their players,” Reese added.
The Dream side maintained its core and added the rebounding queen to the roster, boosting its chances in the league. And now they will look to win their first championships together.
