The WNBA saw massive growth in recent years, but one thing that surpassed its growth speed is the league’s and its superstar players’ influence. Caitlin Clark and Angel Resse led this ‘expansion’, which broke geographical boundaries and opened new avenues and opportunities to fast-track the league’s growth.
Recently, the Chicago Sky forward became part-owner of the NBL team Brisbane Bullet. The move away from the league and basketball action certainly highlights her vision and influence on the game.
Right after the announcement, the NBL franchise also took a bold step, and the 2024 rookie sided with the decision.

Angel Reese Backs Brisbane Bullet’s Strong Step
As part of her 2025 offseason projects, the former LSU star even traveled to Australia, unveiling her special-edition shoes for the WNBL. Reebok became the official partner of the WNBL league.
While the 24-year-old could not secure ownership of an ‘WNBL’ team, her recent acquisition, the Brisbane Bullets, bid to bring a women’s basketball team to the city. Reese quickly loved the efforts and shared the news on her feed and commented, “Let’s go! Invest in women’s sports.”

On the court, the player is also taking a major step in her career and will debut for the senior national team, representing Team USA at the FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Angel Reese Sends Clear Message For Her National Team Debut
After stellar WNBA performances, the 2024 rookie earned a spot on the USA Basketball senior team. She was not happy during the Olympic team selection, as USA basketball overlooked her impact. But now the player is making the most of the opportunity.
“It’s such an honor to wear my uniform, my jersey. I’m so happy,” Reese said in an Instagram post “Just being able to take the women’s basketball everywhere I go worldwide, I’m so excited. It’s an honor to play for USA basketball because there are so many greats who’ve played here and worn the same jersey. So, just continue the footsteps, continue the legacy of what women’s basketball means.”
Reese will be in action on March 11 as Team USA will tip off its campaign with a game against Senegal.
