The Unrivaled season is in full swing, and it is giving the fans some incredible excitement. Only recently, a thundering dunk from Dominique Malonga had the fans on their feet. As dunks are pretty rare in the women’s basketball realm, Malonga was celebrated by the fans.
Next up, the surge of Paige Bueckers feels unreal. Dominating the competition, Bueckers is making a strong case to win the Unrivaled MVP. However, despite all the glitz and glamor, there are some big names that are missing this year. And one such star sitting out is none other than Angel Reese. Opting to skip the current Unrivaled season, Reese recently shared her honest take about her feelings.

Angel Reese Shares A 5-Word Response To Her Missing Unrivaled 2026
The Chicago Sky forward had been one of the biggest draws of the maiden Unrivaled season. In fact, Reese earned the Defensive Player of the Year award in 2025 with her impressive performance last year. However, playing in the WNBA last year, the 23-year-old Sky star suffered from a back injury.
This kept her out for 14 of the Sky’s 44 games in the WNBA. But despite her not taking part this year, the Chi-town Barbie’s popularity seems to be intact. In a recent update on X, a fan posted moments from Reese’s Unrivaled stint from last year.
Reacting to the same, the Chicago Sky star shared the video with the caption, “ugh i kinda miss it 😢”

Surely, Reese sounds disappointed. But at the moment, getting the Sky star fully fit remains the utmost priority. Last season, Chicago ended with a dismal 10-34 win-loss ratio. And if they were to better the record this year, then Reese will need to have her health on point. Meanwhile, following her trip to the Team USA camp, Reese opened up about her experiences.
Angel Reese Enjoyed Her Stint With Team USA Basketball Camp

Missing Unrivaled, Reese is keeping no stones unturned. After earning a call-up to Team USA camp, the Sky star became one of the 10 first-timers. Playing alongside the more experienced players, who consisted of World Cup winners and Olympic winners, Reese pointed out that she wanted to learn from everybody.
“You want to be surrounded [by] and play with the best, to be the best, you got to play with the best, and you’ve got to beat the best… I’m not going to take this moment for granted. I’m so thankful because a lot of people don’t have this moment. So, I try to take a lot og things from other people, like communications, even just ball handling,” Reese Told USA Basketball.
