There could be a thousand reasons to hate on Angel Reese, but she’s giving all the good reasons to love her, over and over again. After spending four glorious years in college, the Maryland star rose to fame, and she rose bold.
While she plays for a tough city team, the Chicago Sky, her mindset to win it all is tougher than the Windy City’s. After an already incredible rookie season, the Chi Town Barbie is speaking out loud on her long-term goals, including retiring from the game altogether.
Angel Reese Shared Big Retirement Dreams
As the Chicago Sky navigate a wild 2025 season, the rookie sensation opened up about her future plans in a heartfelt interview, giving fans a peek into what drives her. Known for her bold personality and rebounding, Reese has been a standout since joining the Sky.
In a recent Elle interview tied to her Reebok signature shoe launch, she got real about what she wants to accomplish before hanging up her sneakers.
“I don’t really care about records—I just want to win a championship. The two most important goals for me before the end of my career are winning a championship, playing on the Olympic team, and winning a gold medal,” Reese said (via Elle).

Angel Reese Turning Adversity Into Opportunity
With big dreams in her eyes and a passion for hoop, Reese has come so far. In her short WNBA career, she has faced intense scrutiny. First, it was putting her side by side with Caitlin Clark, and then for her rebounding.
She recently caught some flak on social media for how she racks up her rebounds, many of them coming off missed layups. People started teasing her with the term “Mebounds,” and it quickly went viral.

Rather than letting the negativity get to her, Angel saw an opportunity and turned it into a profitable venture by launching “Mebounds” merchandise.
She stumbled upon the chatter while scrolling through TikTok. There were fans flooding her comments with the term. However, instead of feeling down about it, she thought, “Why not make some money off this?” And that’s exactly what she did.
Currently, Reese is generating significant sales and even directing part of the profits to her foundation, which tackles cyberbullying. Although Angel hasn’t played since July 29 due to a back injury, she still leads the WNBA in rebounds. While her fans wait for a healthy return, Sky is somehow managing the tough times.
