In the sea of absentees, Angel Reese was the one who made a comeback to the basketball court. Napheesa Collier, Caitlin Clark, and Breanna are still a few high-profile names out of action due to injuries, but Chi-Town Barbie’s comeback was a breath of fresh air for the fans.
The Chicago sky hinted at the possibility of playing AR5 in the game against the Seattle Storm, and she returned directly into the starting lineup. But what about her time on the sidelines? Was it frustrating, or was it tiring, or was it a peaceful rest for her? Reese answered the question in the postgame interview.
Angel Reese Highlights On Her Return
Even though the star was not present on the court, she was on the sidelines supporting her teammates and giving them insights into the game during the timeouts. For a hooper, it’s challenging to play a passive role, but she accepted it wholeheartedly and stood firm with her team.

“I love basketball. Basketball’s what got me here,” she said. “Put all the bulls**t to the side, I wanna hoop. I always wanna hoop and I’m just happy to be back out here playing the game I love,” Reese said in the interview.

Angel Reese also highlighted the side’s second-half struggles and vowed to address them. Later, the star thanked her teammates, fans, and coaches who supported her during the rehab process. She also mentioned that she would now give her best on the court for the team.
The 23-year-old star missed seven consecutive games due to back stiffness. While she was out, she was involved in community work initiated by her foundation and also promoted her upcoming Reebok signature shoes, which will be available worldwide from September.
Angel Reese Shines On Her Return
Many might have thought of seeing AR5 for a limited time or even coming off the bench following her recovery from injury. Tyler Marsh chose to use his superstar from tipoff and played her for 26 minutes.
She was right on the spot from the word ‘go’ and finished the game with a team-high 19 points and grabbed seven rebounds. Ariel Atkins also reflected on Reese’s return, as she mentioned that her team was sure of second-chance opportunities with the star forward under the basket, which encouraged them to take even a few tough shots.
