USA Basketball took a bold step, adding multiple rookies at once to senior-level competition, where the side had a history of being a massively successful side. But despite their age, many rookies have already proved themselves in the WNBA and earned a place in the national side. Veteran forward and one of the legends of the national side, Breanna Stewart, praised Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese for handling pressure in the spotlight.
The most famous duo in the league found success with the national team, as the Fever guard is leading the team’s offense while the Sky forward is controlling the board. They continued their dominance against the New Zealand side too, handing the side their fourth win in as many games.
Talking to the media after the game, Reese spoke about her favorite part of Team USA’s character.

The team won the previous World Cup without losing a game and now started the campaign with four wins in a row in qualifying games. Angel Reese did her part well and is even leading the competition in rebounds. Former USA national star, Lisa Leslie, called Rese a natural successor as she inherits the Sparks‘ star’s jersey number, who was also a menace around the rim.
While the team is ‘bulldozing through the FIBA World Cup Qualifier games, apart from their quality, the former LSU star also credited the chemistry as a key reason for the commanding wins.
Team Chemistry Is Everything For Angel Reese
Team USA was the favorite to top the standings right from the start, and the addition of rookies made things even more interesting for the fans. But the team performed seamlessly to stay in control of the games.
Speaking about the reason for their flawless performances, Reese said, “Team chemistry is everything. I mean, some of us have played with each other on our respective teams, but we have to come together and find your role. Everybody’s not going to be able to do everything that they do on their respective team.”
“So, figuring out what works for you, what you can do best, and bring it to the table and do it their way,” Reese added.
There had been many occasions where the veterans and rookies showed great sync on plays and performed extremely well as a unit.
