The 2025 WNBA season was a complete disaster for the Chicago Sky, but two of their stars still managed to shine the brightest with their double-double performances – Angel Reese and Kamila Cardoso. The duo was the centerpiece of their future plans amid all the criticism over their choice of players.
In the offseason, they both have different plans, though. While Reese will become the first pro-athlete to walk Victoria’s Secret runway, Cardoso will be playing basketball, this time with her national side, as the Brazilian team prepares for the 2026 FIBA World Cup qualifiers.
Angel Reese’s Teammate Kamila Cardoso On National Duty
Making her plans public, the former LSU star shared posts about her ramp walk, movie release, and even updates about her podcast episodes. Though the star struggled to put her team in the playoffs, her attention is still on her off-court earnings and commitments. As for the Brazilian forward, she will be working on her skills and helping her team qualify for the 2026 FIBA World Cup.

As per the post by the Brazilian Women’s basketball team, preparations will start in São Paulo. From November 11 to 18, technical Pokey Chatman will carry out the first stage of training at the Olympic Center in Moema.
While the federation is not involving NCAA players, Cardoso and Damiris Dantas are included in the list of probables. The list consists of a few former players and young players to have a perfect mix of experience and youth. As per the post, Brazil will compete against Mali, South Africa, Belgium, the Czech Republic, and China in March in Wuhan, China.

Cardoso played for the Brazilian side earlier in July; that time, the two-time All-Star carried the team on her back. As for Reese, apart from her modeling and acting assignments, the star has yet to confirm her participation in the Unrivaled Season 2. With player names already out, it’s unlikely that the Chi-Town Barbie will play in the 3-on-3 league.
Kamila Cardoso Gets Real About Angel Reese’s Involvement With The Chicago Sky
The connection between Cardoso and Reese is the Chicago Sky, with former college rivals playing for the Windy City team. But after the LSU star’s comments about her teammates and the franchise’s plans, there were bitter relations between her and her teammates. Cardoso, in an exit interview, tried to avoid questions related to Reese.
When asked about her views on the topic, the 2-year-old Brazilian said, “We had hard conversations as teammates and coaching staff that we needed more from me. That was a point of emphasis going into the All-Star break. I’m proud of myself for what I did this year.”
Without taking names and talking about herself, the forward fired shots at her teammate. Reese’s agent Jeanine Ogbonnaya shares a bold plan for the Chicago Sky rookie beyond the WNBA career. As per rumors, the sky is also looking to trade its seventh overall pick and get assets to build upon for the future.
