Often, things do not go according to plan. Unfortunately, Angel Reese has learned the same in the hardest way possible. Reese showed significant signs of improvement this year from her last WNBA outing. While the fans expected this to be her breakout year, the 23-year-old was pinned down by injury. Yet, with no timeline for her return, Reese is making sure she is staying relevant.
In one of the most high-octane clashes, Chicago Sky faced off against the Connecticut Sun recently. Sadly, much of the polish was absent from the game Reese and other notable stars were absent. But as Chi-Town Barbie witnessed the game from the sidelines, she came up with a playful tease.
Angel Reese Takes A Hilarious Jab At A Former Teammate
The 23-year-old had to miss her sixth consecutive game owing to her troubled back. But while soaking in the game from the bench, the 2024 rookie ensured that she had her eyes fixed on Aneesah Morrow. For the uninitiated, both Reese and Morrow were teammates back at Louisiana State University from 2023 to 2024. Thus, when the 2025 seventh overall pick impressed with her rebounding skills, Reese could not resist herself.
Taking a playful jab, Chi-Town Barbie wrote on her X (formerly Twitter), “bro watching nees rn lowkey (jokingly) pi**ing me off. Cause why are you rebounding that hard rn like it’s personal knowing i’m not there.”

The star guard also added a crying emoji to put more emphasis on her state of mind. And sure enough, Reese had her reasons to be jealous. Morrow went on a rebounding spree and shot five of them in the first quarter itself. The rookie further continued with her impressive run and finished the game with nine points, three assists, and nine rebounds. Meanwhile, as this incident showed the 23-year-old Chicago star’s sarcastic side, she recently also stood up in support of her teammate.
Angel Reese Extends Her Support To Ariel Atkins
Morrow’s aggressive rebounds were seemingly enough to put the Sky wrong-footed. And as Chicago struggled to find momentum, things on the court became heated. In one such affair, Bria Hartley and Rebecca Allen had a heated altercation after a nasty tussle. And as Hartley marched forward aggressively, Ariel Atkins came running in to aid her teammate, Allen. Looking at such an antic from Atkins, Reese seemed utterly pleased.

“ARIEL A REAL ONE. BEEN,” Reese wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
Surely, the 23-year-old star is making every possible effort to stay included and involved with the team. Unfortunately, with things seemingly not improving with her health, fans will be eager to see what happens next.
