The Duke’s Ashton Jackson’s three-pointer will be a highlight reel for many years to come, with the side advancing to the Elite Eight competition under the national team coach Kara Lawson. LSU’s loss was shocking for many, and there were even chatters about coach Mulkey’s retirement. While Mulkey addressed her retirement rumor, her former player, Angel Reese, had something to say about the game.
The former NCAA Champion was one of the key players in the program’s recent championship run, leading the side in double-double stats. During her busy schedule, the player found time to watch the game and react to it.

Angel Reese’s Reaction To LSU Tigers’ Loss
The close contest was one of the examples of why the March Madness games attract so much attention from fans and are among the most-watched games during the March Madness phase. While LSU led the game for most of the period, the Blue Devils stayed within touching distance and closed out the game with Ashton Jackson’s three-pointer.
The loss ended LSU’s bid for the championship despite having a talented roster, but Reese saw the bigger picture and lauded the game itself as she shared her reaction on ‘X’, formally known as Twitter, and wrote, “What a Game.”

While rebounding was Reese’s key attribute on the floor, she was also impactful with her scoring and delivered many memorable performances for the team. Interestingly, though, the player hated playing for Kim Mulkey, as she said in one of her recent interviews.
Angel Reese Hated Playing For Kim Mulkey
The Chicago Sky forward was one of the top players entering college basketball and made her mark with the 2023 championship for the LSU Tigers. She recorded 34 double-doubles in a season, leading the side to its best season. But one thing that bothered her was Coach Mulkey pinpointing her mistakes every now and then.
“She used to get on me bad, and I used to hate it in the moment. I used to like why is she always on me like that?” the Chi-Town Barbie admitted. But it didn’t take her long to realize that Coach Mulkey was making her tough for what lay ahead.
“But then, when I got to the league, I’ll be like, ‘oh okay, like this is a standard.’ It was no walking in practice. It was no, not being ready to go. When you came and practice I was ready to go… But she’s out of heart, out of good love,” Reese added.
That ‘tough’ love helped Reese attain a unique combined WNBA and collegiate double-double record, and the player is thriving at the highest level.
