The USA Basketball training camp wrapped up on a high note, with each player impressing the spectators and coaching staff with their attributes. Players are now back to their offseason commitments, where Angel Reese got back to her podcast – Unapologetically Angel.
Just before the training camp, Reese confirmed Chicago Sky return and full recovery ahead of the 2026 season. While fans were excited by the news, the player put forward a stern warning for her franchise in her latest podcast episode.

Angel Reese Challenges Chicago Sky for Playoffs Next Season
The seventh overall pick in the 2024 WNBA draft lived up to the hype and remained one of the top players in the league, earning back-to-back All-Star callups and breaking multiple records in nearly every game. While the team didn’t do well despite Reese’s prolific performances, she criticized her teammates in an interview for the Chicago Tribune.
Although many criticized the 24-year-old forward for her words, she remains focused on her goal and has recently set a target for the upcoming season. “Win win win win. 2026, I am looking for the playoffs. I am trying to get to the playoffs. I hate to be at home watching finals. It is not great. I wanna be in the finals. Just give me the finals, just give me the playoffs,” Reese said in her podcast.

Playing for two seasons in the league, Reese’s team never made it to the finals. In 2024, the Sky finished 10th with 13 wins in 40 games, and in 2025, the side won 10 games, finishing 12th in the league.

While the side made adjustments for the new season, bringing in a new coach, a pair of guards around their forward duo, the results were not as expected, which resulted in frustration for the former NCAA champion.
Angel Reese’s Future At Chicago Sky Coming To An End?
Every franchise from the league posted its star’s activities from the USA Basketball training camp. Chicago Sky, on the other hand, avoided posting any clips or images of its second-year star, who had been excellent on the floor for both her franchise and national team.

While there are speculations over Reese’s future at the Windy City franchise, this action certainly shows ‘negligence’ towards her achievement. Interestingly, the team’s second star forward, Kamilla Cardoso, brushed off concerns about Angel Reese’s potential Chicago Sky exit, which is also concerning for the former LSU player.
Reese could attract interest from Many teams as the star has been impactful around the rim region, leading the league in rebounds, and even contribute with at least 10+ points.
