Angel Reese has turned out to be an entirely different athlete this year. Working on her loopholes from last season, the 23-year-old is looking like an improved player. Dropping a stellar performance against the New York Liberty recently, the Sky star was lauded by Kamila Cardoso for her significant rebounding impact. But beyond her on-court dominance, Reese often grabs attention with her off-court moments as well.
And she is one player who has never shied away from speaking her heart. Even if it meant getting involved in controversies, well, that is exactly what happened when Reese was asked about the recent player ratings in the NBA 2k26. Replying with a blunt, 4-word statement, Chi-town Barbie riled up the hooping realm.
Angel Reese Seemingly Does Not Care About NBA 2k26 Player Ratings
Back on August 15, the NBA 2k dropped the player ratings for the top 10 WNBA athletes. Quite expectedly, Reese did have a high rating and was also a part of the top 10 list on the game. During a recent chat with Andrew Jerrell Jones, the 23-year-old was asked to weigh in on the matter. However, the manner in which Reese reacted left both the podcaster and the fans surprised.

Jones conveyed that Reese had a 93 rating. Unbothered by the information, the Sky star replied with a cold statement saying, “Does that mean something?” Surely enough, this was not the reply that Jones was expecting. He further tried to explain the fact that such a high rating placed her in the top 10 WNBA athletes in the game. And once again, Reese’s reply was straightforward. “Great. Thanks,” shrugged Reese.

The sharp response only reinforced that Reese doesn’t let outside opinions affect her. In fact, she is pretty much confident about her own capabilities and likes to back them to help her team move forward. Meanwhile, Reese is having quite a tough season this year. Suffering from her lingering back injury, the 23-year-old recently opened up about her return from injury. And as she works hard in rehab, Reese spoke about a couple of dreams she wants to achieve before retirement.

Angel Reese Reveals Driving Force Behind Her WNBA Career
For some, personal milestones and clinching a host of records are of utmost importance. However, Reese is quite different from the lot. Ever since stepping foot into the WNBA, the 2024 rookie has been in the news. Only recently the Chi-town Barbie collaborated with Reebok to announce the drop of her signature shoes. But despite it being a big deal, what intrigues Reese most are a couple of dreams that she is nurturing for a long time.

“I don’t really care about records—I just want to win a championship. The two most important goals for me before the end of my career are winning a championship and playing on the Olympic team and winning a gold medal,” said Reese, as quoted by ELLE.
Surely, given the current form the Sky star is in, both dreams look like a possibility in the future. A glance at her stat line will reveal that the 23-year-old is the fastest to reach the 600 points and 600 assists threshold. She is also the first player in WNBA history to drop two separate 10-game double-double streaks. Thus, if her injury troubles ease, Reese could deliver even more special moments.
