Angel Reese has been juggling on and off the court for some time this season. Now that she already had one game suspension, Reese is rumored to get traded from the Chicago Sky.
This comes amid her somewhat outspokenness about the team’s difficulties. However, not everybody has turned their back on her. During the recent game against the New York Liberty, one of her true fans got a bold, supportive message for the star rookie.
Angel Reese’s Fan Caught On Camera With Her ‘Free Angel’ Shirt
The Sky wrapped their 2025 season with a 91-86 loss to the Liberty, finishing a disappointing 10-34 and missing the playoffs for the second straight year. However, Reese, the team’s leading scorer (14.7 points per game) and rebounder (12.6 per game), missed the final three games with a back injury but remained a vocal presence on the bench, cheering her teammates.

Yet, her absence on the court couldn’t overshadow the controversy sparked by her September 3 interview with the Chicago Tribune. Not to forget where she questioned the team’s roster and her long-term commitment to the Sky. Interestingly, during the latest matchup, cameras spotted a fan wearing a “Free Angel” shirt, a clear nod to Reese’s uncertain status with the team.

Angel Reese Getting Full Support For Trade Outside Sky
The Chicago Sky’s 2025 season was a mess, plagued with injuries and missteps. Vandersloot’s early ACL injury derailed plans to stabilize the backcourt, and the team’s aggressive offseason moves failed to deliver wins.
Soon after, Reese’s public frustration tapped into a broader sentiment about the franchise’s struggles, with one WNBA executive calling Chicago “probably the worst-run organization in the league” and urging Reese to request a trade.
Though the fans and people around the league are seemingly approving the idea of a trade outside the Windy City. Some are even supporting the idea of Reese moving to a contender like the Dallas Wings or Washington Mystics, where she could pair with rising stars like Paige Bueckers or Sonia Citron.
But the Sky hold Reese’s contract through 2027, giving them leverage, but past stars like Elena Delle Donne and Kahleah Copper forced trades. And Reese could follow suit if tensions persist.
