The stage is set for the third meeting between the two most followed franchises in the WNBA, the Chicago Sky and the Indiana Fever. It’s a rivalry game formed in 2024, with both sides drafting the top talents like Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark. Ironically, both players missed their recent games for the first time due to injury, and fans are awaiting updates on either star.
For the Chicago fans, the Chi-Town Barbie was out due to a back injury. Recovering from a back injury is considerably faster than recovering from a groin injury, which her competitor had. But now, coach Tyler Marsh has provided an update on her return.
Positive Update On Angel Reese’s Injury
The Windy City franchise missed its forward in the recent home game against the Seattle Storm. With other stars also out of the game, it was all on the bench players to compete against the fifth-ranked team of the season. Sadly, the result was disappointing after a 38-point hammering from the visitors.
The 2024 Rookie attended the game from the stands. As per an update from her coach, she is making progress and participating in practice sessions.

The day-to-day status is a positive sign, but the coach is cautious about her return and might sit her out of the game against the Fever. Ariel Atkins, Courtney Vandersloot, and Moriah Jefferson will miss the game against the Indiana team. Guard Haley Van Lith and forward Michaela Onyenwere are other probable players for the mega fixture alongside the superstar forward.
Angel Reese’s Return Is A Must For The Chicago Sky
The team’s recent performances have been very disappointing. Center Elizabeth Williams calls out players to be consistent and deliver on the court for the side. The only player living up to the expectations is the former LSU star, who is racking up double-double performances in nearly every game.

With a strong competitor like the Indiana Fever, the 10th-place team needs all its arsenal to compete. They have already lost against CC’s side twice this season, with a combined points difference of 62 points.
Moreover, the team has won just one game out of eight without their rebounding star. Although all the signs are against the hosts, they will look to bounce back from the series of poor performances on July 27.
