The WNBA has had many top rivalries, but a few hardly reach the gravity of Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark games. Every matchup was a blockbuster for the fans, setting multiple records. The iconic face-off took place in the 2023 NCAA Finals, where both players were competing for the first NCAA titles of their respective programs.
The game also intensified the rivalry with the LSU forward’s famous ‘ring celebration’. Afterwards, Clark instead defended Reese over ‘you can’t see me taunt’. However, one interesting fact has now come to light, highlighting how captivated the LSU team was by CC’s gameplay. Reese’s former teammate, Last-Tear Poa, narrated the story.

Angel Reese’s Teammate Talks About Studying Caitlin Clark
Last-Tear Poa, who now plays for Arizona State, was on ‘The 6th Woman Basketball Podcast’ where she narrated the story about preparing for the 2023 championship game and constantly watching CC’s gameplays in different matches.
“I’ve always said she’s the Stephen Curry of women. Like, she can’t be stopped. Anything she does, she’s just a dog. And it’s hard to guard her. I remember before the [2023 championship] game, we were watching film [on Clark] on the bus, watching film at the hotel. We even watched film right before we played, and the coach was like, ‘All right, this is the last time. Just have fun,'” Poa said.
In the final match, LSU recorded a 102-85 win. Clark scored 30 points in 35 minutes with eight assists to her name for the Iowa side. Reese delivered another double-double performance as she had 15 points and 10 rebounds. Freshman Poa played in seven minutes and scored six points in the game.

Caitlin Clark And Angel Reese Could Team Up For The USA
Both competitive players played together in the 2024 All-Star Game and, once again, were on opposite teams in the 2025 edition of the WNBA All-Star Game. New coach Kara Lawson hinted at the possible addition of the 2024 rookies to the team for the FIBA World Cup qualifiers. Talking in an interview with French newspaper L’Équipe and answering questions about the possibility of tournament debuts for Reese and Clark.

“They’re really bringing something new to our sport, a kind of excitement, but also fan communities that follow them everywhere they go,” Lawson said. “And that’s great. We have a great generation of young, very talented players coming up, and I’m looking forward to working with them. “It will be good to have them in a position to play with Team USA this time and see how they gel with everyone, since there’s already so much talent.”

Núñez Jr. teases Juwanna Mann sequel after 23 years with Clark and Reese as co-stars. The Sky forward already featured in a movie, while it could be a debut for the Fever guard.
