While the player’s personal life is all set now, she still has a big question about her career, as free agency signings start in April.
Arike Ogunbowale’s Key Decision Is Still Pending
After the CBA Confirmation, the league is ready for the free agency signings, which is one of the deepest talent pools available at the moment for all 15 franchises. The former Notre Dame star is one of the top free agents from the pool, who had not had a very productive regular season. The Dallas Wings had every opportunity to trade Ogunbowale ahead of last season’s trade deadline, but decided to hang onto her, having confidence that they could re-sign her.
Now the Wings have experienced Jose Fernandez as their head coach, and he may have a better system for the two stars in Dallas. Yet, the Dallas Wings’ No. 1 Draft pick decision could decide Arike Ogunbowale’s future in free agency. As per the recent mock draft for 2026 WNBA Season, the veteran guard might have to search for a new franchise for the upcoming season.
